Encaustic demo at Gallery 86

art encausticArtist t.e. siewert will hold an encaustic painting demonstration from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at Gallery 86 on Main Street in Waynesville. 

 

Siewert is one of eight artists participating in the real time demonstrations as part of “Local Flavors,” an exhibition that runs through March 29 at Gallery 86 at the Haywood County Arts Council. The exhibition includes 30 local artists of different mediums whose work is on display during the exhibition. 

The artists include: Mark Bettis (oil), Carol Blackwell (3-D assemblage), Joyce Brunsvold (quilt art), Ron Brunsvold (photography), Kristalyn Bunyan (mono print), Craig Burgwardt (oil), Crystal Allen Coates (ceramics), Wendy Cordwell (collage), Nick DePaolo (water color), Christine Dougherty (oil), John Gernandt (furniture), Sylvia Hirschegger (oil), Patrice Kennedy-Murillo (mixed media), Becki Kollat (art books), Steven Lange (mixed media), Melli Mae Lonnemann (clay), Bob Luciene (wood), Betina Morgan (acrylic), Cory Plott (ceramics), Vicky Pinney (cold wax), Bobbie Polizzi (assemblage), Barbara Sammons (photography), Mark Schieferstein  (metal), Jere Smith (woodwork), Terry Thompson (jewelry), Tadashi Torii (glass), Corina Pia Torii (visual artist), Melissa Enloe Walter (acrylic painting on gold and silver leaf) and Constance Williams (encaustic).

    art theplaceI’m alone, again.

    As of last Tuesday, I am newly single. To be honest, I’m not happy about that fact. Not one bit. This was the relationship where I felt she was the “one,” a person I truly could see myself marrying and having a family with. That notion — a wife and kids — has been the furthest things from my mind for years.
