MedWest offering ‘Hope for the Holidays’

A community event to help people deal with feelings of grief and loss during the upcoming holidays will be held from 1-2:30 p.m. and from 6:30-8 p.m. Nov. 8 at First Baptist Church of Waynesville.

Palliative Care and Hospice Services of MedWest Health System is hosting the “Hope for the Holidays.” The sessions are free, and refreshments will be provided.

    Born and raised in Upstate New York, she eventually moved away, crossing the Mason-Dixon Line for Alabama at age 12. She carried in her mind the sounds of the 1960s folk scene of Greenwich Village in Manhattan and show tunes echoing from the record player in her childhood home. Soon, she’d cross paths down South with country and bluegrass melodies radiating from Nashville and beyond.
