Women-only ski lessons launch in January

out womenskiA six-session program aimed at female skiers and snowboarders will begin on Wednesday, Jan. 7, at Cataloochee Ski Area in Maggie Valley.

Women on Wednesdays, called WOW, allows women who learn better with female instructors to take ski and snowboard lessons from female instructors. Sessions last from 10 a.m. to noon, and the slopes are available for practice afterward through 4:30 p.m. The six-lesson package is $185 if rentals are needed or $135 without rentals. Cost is $75 for season passholders.
