Swain Middle School students in the New Century Scholars Program and the afterschool program volunteered to help remove over 45 pounds of litter outside Swain Middle School and High School during the Big Sweep event, a statewide blitz each fall to purge local waterways of trash that is not only unsightly but can harm wildlife and aquatic ecology.
