All about the local food movement in Macon

A talk on the local food movement will be held at noon on Thursday, August 11, in Franklin hosted by the League of Women Voters.

Alan Durden of the NC Cooperative Extension Service will describe local food sources and tailgate markets, farm stands, farmers’ markets, and community gardens. He will also share views of local farmers concerned with marketing, how to grow with the changing market, and the direction of agriculture.
