Highlands art center hosts eight garden tours

out gardentourThe Bascom’s 2012 Mountains in Bloom Garden Festival, which includes a garden tour and flower show, will take place July 13-14.

On both days, visitors can tour eight gardens in the Ravenel area. Garden hosts are: Nina and Bill Bugg; Virginia and Mike Campbell; Marion and George Mayer; Diane and Ray McPhail; Libby and Gene Pearce; Connie and Bill Rea; Wyn and Bill Shoptaw; and Peggy Woodruff.

From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 13-14, flower arrangements will also be showcased in The Bascom’s Dave Drake Studio Barn. The free flower show will feature a horticulture exhibit as well as a nature photography exhibit in the education gallery.

Tickets for the garden tours are $80 per person, which includes a boxed lunch. Group discounts are available.

The event is sponsored by Balentine. Other Mountains in Bloom partners include Old Edwards Inn and Spa, The Outdoor Lights, Franklin Ford, Moss Robertson Cadillac and Delta Air Lines.
