  HCC offers 10-week entrepreneur class

A 10-week course designed for entrepreneurs launching a new business and small business owners aiming to expand will begin this month at Haywood Community College.

The hands-on course titled Rural Entrepreneurship through Action Learning starts Jan. 19 and is held every Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. through March 23. The cost is $55.

Participants will learn specific steps to making their enterprise a success, including: self-employment assessments, the business plan essentials, legal structures, community analysis, marketing research and feasibility, targeting the customer, analyzing the competition, taxes and licenses, computerized cash flow analysis and financial feasibility. Many local business owners have taken the course, which is now in its 10th session.
