RiverLink collects info on French Broad put-ins
SMN

A project to catalogue all recreation points along the French Broad River from Transylvania County to Knoxville is now available online.

The project, coordinated by RiverLink, describes put-ins and take-outs for boaters, developed and primitive camping areas, historic sites and fishing holes along the French Broad. The website also maps whitewater locations for those who want to portage around rough areas.

To view the recreation maps of the N.C. portion of the river go to www.riverlink.org. The recreation guide for the Tennessee portion of the French Broad is at www.knoxcounty.org/frenchbroad.

“These guides are designed to help people, families, commercial outfitters and all level of ability paddlers better utilize the river from its headwaters in Rosman to where it joins the Holston River at Volunteer Landing in Knoxville,” according to RiverLink.

RiverLink is an environmental group dedicated to the economic and environmental revitalization of the French Broad River as a destination to work, live and play.
