For the second year in a row, the Small Business Center at Haywood Community College won an Excellent Small Business Award.

Sharron Bleyl, Small Business Center director, and Greg Rutherford, dean of Workforce Development and Regional High Technology Center, accepted the award at a recent State Board of Community Colleges’ meeting in Raleigh.

According to SBCN State Director Gayle Harvey, HCC’s Small Business Center was recognized because it excelled in three categories: the center demonstrated its ability to help a particular small business do extremely well; it developed innovative programs that benefit small businesses in Haywood County; and it met the special needs of the area’s small business community.
