Hollywood screenwriter Terry Curtis Fox will present the lecture
“The Show Runner: A Case Study of ‘The Hunger,’”
on Valentine’s Day at Western Carolina University.
A visiting artist in Western’s department of English this semester, Fox will be rescuing a series of erotic horror tales at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14, in Western’s A.K. Hinds University Center theatre.
Fox is a member of the Writers Guild of America’s board of directors and has written for “The Hunger,” “Diagnosis Murder,” “Hill Street Blues” and “Stargate SG-1.”
Fox’s Valentine’s Day lecture will feature two episodes of the Showtime series “The Hunger.” Fox will share a narrative beginning with the day he was hired by the crisis-riddled “The Hunger” through the end of the second season. He also will discuss what is involved in being a show runner, why writers tend to assume that particular role and how show runners are expected to behave.
