Web site for Appalachian authors

SMN

A new Web site for Appalachian authors has been launched as a forum for information, support and sharing.

The Appalachian Authors Guild, established within the bounds of the Appalachian Regional Commission, aims to help members market and promote their product through e-commerce, public events, education and other collaborative efforts, while retaining a greater percentage of revenue from sales of their materials.

The Appalachian Regional Commission is a federal-state partnership that works with the people of Appalachia to create opportunities for self-sustaining economic development and improved quality of life. The ARC defines its service area as 12 states stretching from Georgia and South Carolina, up to Pennsylvania.

Any person interested in writing may become a member of the authors’ guild by filing out an application and paying annual membership dues. Information about the guild’s bylaws is available online at www.appalchianauthorsguild.com or by calling 276.963.2660.
