Gallery gets new season underway in Jackson

The new season is underway at Gallery One, the gallery at 604 W. Main St. in Sylva.

The next event will be the annual Members Show May 24 to June 26, followed by the TravelLeisure-Recreation art of places, events, and experiences July 5 to Aug. 7. Other events include Outsider Art by artists having little or no formal training Aug. 16 to Sept.18; Fall Colors Show Sept. 27 to Oct. 30; and Abstraction IV art in the abstract or non-objective genre Nov. 8 to Dec. 11.

Each exhibition will open with a 7 p.m. reception open to the public without charge.

The season’s schedule will include an evening lecture to accompany each exhibit; art instruction for adults and children; and field trips to such places as the Greenville County Art Museum, the High Museum in Atlanta and the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh.

Gallery One, a nonprofit organization of artists and patrons, is operated by members of the Jackson County Arts Association and is funded in part by the Jackson County Arts Council and the North Carolina Arts Council’s Grassroots Grants Program.
