A Western Carolina University promotional video is not only helping market outreach services offered by WCU’s Division of Continuing Education and Summer School, it’s also winning awards from national higher education organizations.

John Kenyon, information and communication specialist for Western’s Office of Public Information, recently received an award of excellence from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education for his role as videographer and video editor for ”The Outreach Center,” a video on compact disc.

Western’s award of excellence in the CASE competition came in the category of slide and multimedia programs. CASE is the leading education association for professionals in the field of institutional advancement.

The promotional video combines testimonials with images of WCU’s Outreach Center, campus and surrounding area to promote the Outreach Center as an ideal location for conferences and meetings in the Western North Carolina region.

The video is distributed on CD in MPEG format for playback on personal computers. It also may be viewed online in QuickTime format at http://cess.wcu.edu/conted/.
