La Leche League uses arts to raise money
SMN

Would you like a way to make your child’s artistic creation last forever? Looking for a unique party invitation or gift? Want a way to preserve your family tree on something that will last beyond a lifetime?

Makit is a unique system that takes hand-drawn objects/art work and, through a special molding process, creates a 10-inch melamine plate, 20-ounce bowl, 8-inch hotplate, 4-inch coaster or a 9-by-14-inch tray. The La Leche League of Haywood County will hold a fund-raising event on June 13 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Greenhouse, 323 Hazelwood Avenue, (between the Hazelwood PO and the church) by offering the Makit process to all parents, children, and adults. The cost is $10 per plate, bowl, etc. and the finished product is ready in approximately two weeks. Call 828.926.5292 for information.

The Haywood County La Leche League meets on the third Wednesday of every month at the First United Methodist Church in Waynesville, across from the post office, in the nursery from 10 a.m. to noon. Call 828.627.9597 for more information on La Leche League or with nursing questions or help.
