First Fridays, a series of free outdoor shows to be held in Dillsboro the first Friday of each month from June to September, will begin June 3 with a 7:30 p.m. concert on the grounds of Squire Watkins Inn.

Bluesman Marshall Ballew and singer Karen “Sugar” Barnes will perform. The duo will be followed in July by The Fiddling Dills Sisters, in August by The Muses, and in September by storyteller Gary Carden.

Bring lawn chairs or a blanket, plus a picnic.

The concerts are sponsored by the Smoky Mountain Music Association, the series is funded by Jackson County Travel and Tourism, the Jackson County Arts Council and Dillsboro Merchants Association.
