Dillsboro holds 21st Heritage Festival

SMN

The 21st Dillsboro Heritage Day Arts and Music Festival on June 11 will feature music, arts, crafts and food.

More than 50 local artisans and crafters will display quilts, woodworking items, pottery, jewelry, paintings, photography, wood carvings, and soaps and lotions.

Musical performances include a variety of styles ranging from blues to bluegrass, from folk to country. Headlining performers are noted blues singer Karen “Sugar” Barnes, country and blues guitarist Marshall Ballew of Sylva, and the Fiddlin’ Dills Sisters.

“It’s a lively festival filled with wonderful musicians and quality artisans and crafters,” said Joe Frank McKee, event chairman and owner of Tree House Pottery. “People come from all over to hang out, listen to music, shop, eat and have a good time. Everyone just enjoys the quaint atmosphere of our mountain town.”

The festival is family-friendly and open to all ages. Children’s activities include a petting zoo and face painting.

Festival hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free and paid parking are available. For more information call 828.631.5100.
