Western Carolina University’s Office of Student Affairs and department of music are planning to mark the first-year anniversary of the terrorist attacks on America with a series of observances and tributes Wednesday, Sept. 11, culminating in a concert of “Music for Heroes.”

Organizers of the campus events are seeking Western North Carolinians who were directly impacted by the events of Sept. 11 — people who lost a loved one; those who were involved in rescue and relief efforts; or those who took part in the massive clean-up.
