A new company is offering whitewater trips on Richland Creek in Waynesville.

Whitewater of Waynesville — WOW — offers kayaking and tubing on the trout-supported waters of Richland Creek through class I and II rapids. The company offers self-guided 4.5 mile-trip, high-end equipment, safety instructions, parking, dressing rooms, picnic area and shuttle to the put-in. The trip includes rural and urban scenery through Waynesville’s historic district as well as plenty of wildlife.

WOW is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday. Prices include:

• Half tubing trip, approximately 1 hour, (50 pounds and up) $7.

• Full tubing trip, approximately 2 hours, (minimum 12 years old) $10.

• Single inflatable kayak, approximately 1.5 hours, (minimum 12 years old) $20

• Double inflatable kayak, approx. 1.5 hours, (50 pounds to adult) $35.

WOW is located in the Waynesville Industrial Park. To get there, take exit 104 off U.S. 74/19/23; continue south on Business 23 past Lowe’s.
