<< Back 8/14/02 Community Table in Jackson to mark anniversary SMN The Community Table of Jackson County will celebrate its third anniversary with a daylong festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Table on Saturday (Aug. 17). The public is invited to take part in the festivities. There will be live music on the bandstand from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. featuring a country bluegrass band. Culminating the celebration will be a fund-raising auction by Dodie of Dodie’s Auction in Sylva. The auction begins at 2 p.m. All proceeds from the auction on will benefit the Community Table. Some of the items to be auctioned are automotive services (oil changes, wheel alignment, and car washes), medical services, many restaurant meals, gift and boutique items, clothing and books. In addition to celebrating its third year of helping to feed the hungry in Jackson County, the Community Table will unveil its new thrift store. The store will be open from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, and from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday. The Community Table is located at 300 Asheville Highway across from the Quinn Theater.
