The annual Balsam Mountains Bluegrass Fall Jamboree will be held
from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Community Services

The jamboree is a fundraiser for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Western North Carolina and will include a variety of regional bluegrass musicians and cloggers. Two bands appearing at the jamboree — The Jeanette Williams Band from Danville, Va. And the Wells Family from Clayton, Ga. — recently were featured in the new film “Bell Witch.” Also performing are local acts The Deitz Family, Smoky Mountain String and Tonya Pruett.
The Carolina Sunshine Cloggers and Cullowhee Valley Cloggers will dance, with Georgia State Champion Billy Nations and Jerry Jones of Franklin leading floor clogging for the audience.
Meals will be served throughout the day including BBQ, hot dogs, baked beans, slaw, cornbread, pinto beans, chips, desserts, sodas and coffee. Door prizes will be available.
