Watercolorist Jo Ridge Kelley to give painting demonstration

SMN

The Blue Ridge Watermedia Society (BRWS) will present artist Jo Ridge Kelley as the demonstrator for its Oct. 11 general meeting.

Kelley’s Wild Mountain Watercolors is located in Ridge Runner Naturals, which she owns with her husband, Ed, on Main Street in Waynesville. Kelley has a degree in creative arts from UNC-Charlotte and teaches her techniques at Studio D and in private lessons. She is a past president of the Waynesville Gallery Association and is currently a member of BRWS and the Watercolor Society of North Carolina. Her paintings are in private collections throughout the country and abroad.

Kelley’s soft and gentle spirit emerges in her soothing watercolors of the North Carolina Mountains. An eye for detail and desire to present her beloved mountains in the best possible light provide us with a range of rich images from the stateliness and grandeur of the Smokies to a peek at their quiet and secret places.

The Blue Ridge Watermedia Society meets the second Tuesday of each month in the old Armory on Boundary St. at 6:45pm. The armory is off Depot St. at the railroad tracks in Frog Level. The society conducts its business meetings and then offers members and attendees programs of interest to artists. The public is always welcome.
