The swelling buzz surrounding this band follows their critically acclaimed first album and rigorous tour schedule. During the summer of 2002, MTV hailed Mofro for their genuine hipness during the network’s rising star segment “You Hear it First.” The band’s debut album, “Blackwater,” received rave reviews from Wired Magazine and was voted one of the 10 Best R&B CDs of 2001 by Amazon.com. The band was also featured on NPR’s Morning Edition.
