Ph3 hosts special program with editors

SMN

A new Philosophy, Phun and Phellowship series will begin at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 19, at Soco Moon Tea House at 319 North Haywood Street in Waynesville.

Also on hand to discuss the role of newspapers in the community will be a panel of newspaper editors including Buzz Eggleston of the Enterprise Mountaineer; Scott McLeod of The Smoky Mountain News; Cecil Bothwell of Mountain Express and Tammy Jones, a bureau chief with the Asheville Citizen Times.

Tuesday’s program will be a continuation of the last program, “Community and the Arts” with entertainment from Mark Mounce performing on the Native American flute; Preston Tinsley doing stand-up comedy and the Celtic band called the “Celtic Not.” Special guest will be Karen Lyle on the Irish harp.

The purpose of PH3 is to create an event that mixes thinking (Philosophy) with entertainment (phun), which is calculated to create phellowship. Themes include communication, interconnection and community and audience interaction is a key part of the event. For more information call Soco Moon at 456.5133 or Dave Guerin at 452.6211. A basket will be passed. A minimum donation of $5 is requested.
