Birds:

° American wigeon, ring-necked duck and hooded merganser (Cashiers Lake, 11/20, Don Hendershot)

° Common loon, horned grebe, Bonaparte’s gull, ring-billed gull, red-shouldered hawk, wood duck, black duck, bufflehead, ring-necked duck, lesser scup and belted kingfisher ( from Carolina Field Birders field trips of 11/21 & 11/23 at Lake Junaluska, not all birds seen both days)

° Horned grebe, Bonaparte’s gull, ring-billed gull, ruddy duck, red-breasted merganser and osprey (Lake Julian in Asheville, reported from Carolina Birds listserv)

° Wood duck, red-tailed hawk, peregrine falcon, American kestrel, belted kingfisher, downy woodpecker, northern flicker, eastern phoebe, winter wren, hermit thrush, ruby-crowned kinglet, cedar waxwing, eastern meadowlark, red-winged blackbird, common grackle, brown-headed cowbird, house finch, American goldfinch, field sparrow, white-crowned sparrow, white-throated sparrow, fox sparrow, Lincoln’s sparrow, swamp sparrow and song sparrow (Ferguson’s fields, 11/24, Don Hendershot & Bob Olthoff)
