To the Editor:

I applaud SMN’s willingness to support “ugly public discourse.” This is a free country and all should be encouraged to speak their mind. I am not familiar with the specific group of vocal citizens in Haywood County; however; is it possible that they are complaining without asking what they can do to help solve the problem, whatever it is?
