| << Back 12/3/03 Holiday showcase opens at Frog Level gallery SMN Space Gallery in Waynesvilles Frog Level area will hold its first annual Holiday Showcase beginning Dec. 5. The show is the first of an annual tradition the gallery is starting as a way to promote local artists during the holiday season. It will feature the creations of two Waynesville artists, Susan Greenelsh and Space owner Tanya Savage, who both recently appeared in the newest Michaels Arts and Crafts book. The artists have created a variety of pieces for the show. Among them are Greenelshs whimsical watercolors, painted furniture and windows, as well as her first ever acrylics on canvas. Savage will be showing, along with her glass mosaic garden stones, new mosaic wall hangings, mirrors, and tables. She has recently begun to work with fiber and her new wool wall hangings and rugs will be on display for the first time. The different mediums the artists use work well together when showcased side by side. The artists will also have pieces that they have collaborated on. This will be Spaces last show of the year. An opening reception will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Dec. 5 and art lovers will be able to meet the artists and enjoy refreshments. Holiday Showcase will be on display from Dec. 5-Jan. 16. Space Gallery is located at 254 Depot Street in the historic Frog Level district of Waynesville. For more for more information call the gallery at 828.456.4652.support local artists. |
