Macon County Historical Society and Friends of the Scottish Tartans Museum, with the aid and support of the Arts Council of Macon County, Franklin Lions Club, Learning Enrichment Acitivities Program, Macon County 4-H Homegrown Buds’ and “Dimes for Downtown,” have published a hiking guide to downtown Franklin.

Downtown Discovery Hike is a 44-page booklet full of information, maps and games designed to educate and entertain visitors. The hiking routes cover downtown and Nikwasi Mound.

The guide is available for $5.75 at both the Scottish Tartans Museum and the Macon County Historical Museum. All proceeds from Downtown Discovery Hike will benefit Friends of the Scottish Tartan Museum and the Macon County Historical Society and Museum.
