Jackson County commissioners have scheduled a public hearing for 7
p.m. on Monday, July 9, to take comment on a cell tower moratorium.
Complaints from Cashiers residents prompted the county to begin work
on a cell tower ordinance that would regulate certain aspects of the
towers. The moratorium would be in effect until the ordinance was adopted,
said county board Chairman Jay Denton.
Denton also said there was little chance commissioners could help Cashiers
residents with their complaint because construction on that tower has
already started.
