The United States Canoe and Kayak Junior Olympics Whitewater Slalom competition was held July 14 on the Tuckaseegee River in downtown Bryson City, NC. Sponsored by Bank of America and hosted by the Nantahala Racing Club, the event drew 68 competitors whom had previously qualified in regional competitions around the country.

Classes were: C1, men’s canoe; C2, men’s double canoe; K1, men’s Kayak; K1W, women’s Kayak. Age groups were: Cadet, up to 14 years of age; and Junior, 15 to 18 years of age.
