Duke Power is working with the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission,
other state agencies and other stakeholders on an angling study for
the Tuckasegee and Nantahala rivers, part of the Federal Energy Regulatory
Commissions relicensing of power plants on these rivers.
Duke is looking for anglers for either or both studies. Fishermen must
commit to all flows for the selected river(s), as participants will
be asked to fill out single flow evaluations and a final comparative
evaluation of the angling experience. Duke is looking for a variety
of anglers — bait, fly and spin/lure.
Those interested in participating in the study should contact Bunny
Johns (828.488 .8539). Those reaching the answering machine should indicate
which river and whether you use bait, fly or spin/lure, as well as contact
information including phone, email and address.
