Golf tournament to benefit veterans

The 9/11 Armed Forces Golf Classic will be held on Sept. 10 and 11 at Sequoyah National Golf Club in Cherokee. The tournament is hosted by the Steve Youngdeer Post 143 of the American Legion.

A free golf clinic will be provided by Sequoyah National and fly fishing classes and guided rafting trips will be given by Rivers Edge Outfitters on Sept. 10. A special golf rate will also be available to tournament participants.

All funds will benefit the Vietnam Veterans Traveling Wall coming to Cherokee in 2012 and other services of the Steve Youngdeer Post of the American Legion.
