Franklin athlete chosen for US Team

Dave Linn, a triathlete from Franklin, has been chosen for the United States triathlon team going to the World Championships in Switzerland at the end of August.

Linn, who has mild cerebral palsy, will compete in the physically challenged division. He qualified for the world championships based on his finish at the national triathlon championship in New York City in July. The race consisted of a one-mile swim in the Hudson River, a 25-mile bike ride through Manhattan and a six-mile run in Central Park. Linn’s finishing time was 3:24 — a 29-minute swim, 1:31 bike and 1:17 run.

Linn is the founder of the Dave Linn Foundation, a non-profit organization designed to promote an active lifestyle for the physically challenged.
