Several all-day Space Science Labs for adults or kids will be held on various dates in late July and early August at the Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute, led by working astronomers and engineers. “The Space Science Lab is a wonderful opportunity to learn by doing,” said PARI Education Director Christi Whitworth. Participants get to to build a scientific instrument to take home or explore the institute’s telescopes and planetarium.
Each day-long lab has a different theme, including: build a model rocket and learn about rocket science; study the constellations, telescopes and planetarium; build an LED sign and program a circuit board; or build a telescope.
