Dinner to benefit Elk Foundation

Written by

out elkThe Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation will hold a fundraising banquet and auction on Aug. 18 at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Hotel Ballroom in Cherokee.

The event begins at 5 p.m. with raffles and a silent auction and dinner at 7 p.m. Dinner will be followed by a live auction for world-class wildlife art, firearms, unique collectibles and trips across the world.

Since 1984, the organization has enhanced or conserved more than 6 million acres of habitat — nearly all on public lands — for elk and other wildlife. More than 600,000 acres have been opened for public access including hunting, fishing and other recreation. Additionally, wild elk populations have been restored in parts of their former range here in North Carolina, as well as Kentucky, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Arkansas, Missouri and Virginia.

For ticket information and reservations, contact co-chair Joyce Cooper at 828.506.3308. Deadline is Aug. 11.
