Family tours of Tuckasegee tributary

Written by

out discoverytrailThe Watershed Association of the Tuckasegee River is offering guided adventure tours from 9 to 11 a.m. each Saturday morning at Monteith Farmstead Park.

Each tour follows a portion of Scotts Creek, a tributary of the Tuckasegee River. Participants will learn how to protect streams, keep them clean and healthy, and how to use them as a valuable resource.

Shoes appropriate for water — not flip-flops — are mandatory.

This is a hands-on learning experience for families  and individuals, ending with an in-the-creek adventure.

Register at WATR office at 828.488.8418, or on-line at watrnc.wordpress.com/2012/07/25/adventure-hour-at-discovery-trails.
