The 70-year-old organization runs programs such as Great Outdoors University, which exposes children and teens to the natural world who might otherwise not have those opportunities, and supports 14 Wildlife chapters statewide to mobilize community volunteers for conservation projects of all sizes.
“The N.C. Wildlife Federation is a great example of an organization that is empowering people in urban, suburban and rural communities across the state to promote environmental education, sustainability and stewardship,” said Leslie Winner, Executive Director of the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation.
