In her career, she has responded to emergencies all over the nation, with over 60 deployments including the World Trade Center Response, Presidential Inaugurations,United Nations General Assemblies, and dozens of hurricane responses.

She has been a member of Haywood County’s Incident Management Team since its inception.

“Being the safety officer for this event is definitely a challenge. Most often the hazards and risks with a safety officer's job are things visible, things we can easily identify. With something as insidious as Covid-19, it isn't that clear. Continuing to stay on top of safety for an indefinite amount of time is a daunting task. This county has been my family home for seven generations. It doesn't get much more special or personal!”
