Vaccine mandates a good bellwether
To the Editor:
Cops threatening to quit over vaccine mandates is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to reform police departments. Let them go.
Members of our military who threaten to quit because of vaccine mandates? I say go ahead. You were required to take a dozen or so vaccines when you signed up, but refuse this one? Makes no sense. If you want to throw away your career by going AWOL over a vaccine, have at it. If you want to quit, then I say good riddance. We need to flush out those who lack the mentality and the grit to be a member of the greatest military in the world.

Ms Bell, why are you so quick to judge the decisions of others who certainly have put a lot of thought into what they are doing? Perhaps you should educate yourself and take a good look at the precedents being set here? Are we just to automatically do whatever some faceless government agency tells us to do when there is certainly some strong opposition to the idea of a mandate? America is supposed to be a free country. There is much evidence that the vaccines are dangerous and time is needed to see if they are safe. It is prudent for anyone to consider the risks. All around the country many physicians and healthcare workers are taking the same route - stating they will quit rather than subject themselves to the vaccine. That should raise a lot of red flags with any thinking person! They know a lot more than I do and I'm concerned. We need our dedicated law enforcement people and health care people now more than ever. Your statements are rude and disrespectful.
