Estridge in, Guiney out for Sylva Town Council

After canvassing, the vote count is official, with Brad Waldrop, Mark Jones and Blitz Estridge winning seats on the Sylva Town Council, in addition to incoming Mayor Johnny Phillips.

The Sylva Town Council could have three new members, including a new mayor after vote totals become official later this week. 

Three seats up for Sylva Town Council

Three seats are up for election this November on the Sylva Town Council, and six candidates are competing for those spots.

Municipal election filing period ends Friday

The candidate filing period for November’s municipal elections that opened on July 7 ends this coming Friday, July 21, at noon, and although things are starting to solidify in some races, there have been and may continue to be some surprises.
