Homemade Tortilla Chips

Homemade Tortilla Chips

Homemade tortilla chips are easy to make and pair perfectly with salsa, guacamole, or another type of dip. They’re an especially great snack to make if you have leftover corn tortillas. The benefit of making your own is that you don’t have to worry about excess additives and salt because you know exactly what’s going into them.

Ingredients

  • Corn tortillas
  • Fresh lime
  • Olive oil

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Lay 6 to 8 tortillas on a cookie sheet and put them in the oven for 10 minutes to dry them out
  • Once tortillas are dried (but not crisp), cut them into triangles
  • Lay all of the triangles flat onto the cookie sheet
  • Whisk together olive oil and freshly-squeezed lime juice
  • Use a brush to very lightly brush the oil mixture onto each triangle
  • Sprinkle the tortillas with salt
  • Bake the tortillas in the oven around 20-25 minutes
  • Stir occasionally until chips are lightly brown and crispy
